After a particularly long packaged food diet program that left me weak and out of breath, I began binge eating. I would eat astonishing quantities of food in one evening. This affected my body so much that I started falling sick more often. I was often unable to sleep properly at night and woke up weak and exhausted in the morning. When I went to the doctor for an annual checkup she told me that my blood triglycerides were too high and that my cholesterol was above normal. Here I was a young woman age 25 with health problems of a much older person! That was my wake up call. That's when I knew I had to stop the madness of dieting for weight loss. Have you ever been on an exercise program and not lost weight? You are not alone. After all the diet fiascos, I decided to lose weight through exercise. I started on a running program and was totally dedicated to it. My fitness improved and I felt better about myself for doing something that took so much commitment. I was horrified when I weighed myself a couple of months into the program and realized that I had gained 10 lbs! I thought I would give it a couple more months and at the end of 4 months on the running program, I had not lost a pound and the extra weight I had gained did not fall off. Worst of all, the weight gain was in my belly region. No one could explain why this was happening. Fast forward to several months later. I had stopped my running program and still had my big belly to deal with. I felt angry and cheated and decided to dig deep and research why I was not losing weight. I spent countless hours on research. I gleaned information from doctors, fitness experts and nutritionists. I also looked into holistic treatments and alternative medicine. I also interviewed and observed a large number of women, both heavy and naturally thin to learn what worked. What I learned was pure gold! "I lost 4lbs in my first week!"
