Guitar Articles Guitar speed isn't that hard to master, and here's why.... guitar speed exercises alone don't cut it. You need personal
insight on how to actually train for shredding. The good news
is that with the right knowledge and the CORRECT exercises - ANYONE can shred. Everyday I read on the internet about people who are worried that
they are doing long term damage to their hands, developing bad habits, struggling with fretting hand strength and a weak picking
hand. Its sad that we live in a day and age when people are actually
talking about repetitive strain injury from trying to practice guitar
too much. Lets, face it - you, me, we got better things to do than
practice the guitar ALL day long. I used to do it, but let's put it
this way - if I offered you an old junk car for $100,000.00 and
a Lamborghini for $500.00, which one would you take? Its a no-brainer. I invite you to look over some of the most common guitar speed myths.. Guitar Speed Myth #1 - Its Hard!!!
The point that I was trying to illustrate just now, was that people
are trying way to hard to become fast on the guitar by practicing
the wrong things, the wrong way. Not only is this pointless, but
as mentioned before - it can cause some serious injury, and unfortunately
guitar players both young and old are already doing it this way. That's
a real shame, because you should only need to worry about what song
you're going to shred your heart out to. I used to practice this way, and many other guitar players like me
did as well. It took me some 8 years to finally get it, and when
I discovered some of the key points to practicing guitar efficiently,
I decided that I wanted to share them - I did not want to hoard these
secrets. If you're struggling, it could honestly come down to making the
smallest change in how you play and practice. In fact most of the time it IS something so trivial, but you would never know it
unless someone pointed it out to you. Granted that it does require some patience, and that some work
does need to be put in, but there is a difference between working
and gaining a little progress each time, and working hard for years
with no progress gained. Guitar Speed Myth #2 - I've Started Too Late!!
Absolutely not true. I know plenty of guitarists who have been playing
for well over 20 years, or are between the ages of 35 and 60 who have
this attitude. One of my favorite quotes is "don't quit 5 minutes before
the miracle happens". In my opinion, if someone has been playing for that long already, then they are damn close to breaking through the
wall! Nothing happens over night, and no matter the age, weaknesses or strengths
that we have, everyone has a fair shot at just about anything, and when it
comes to mastering guitar speed - ITS NO DIFFERENT. I have met plenty of experienced shredders who can play circles around
me, to know that what I say is true. Care to hear one of my songs? - its short, shreda-li-fick, and to the point! Guitar Speed Myth #3 - I Have To Practice 6 To 8 Hours A Day!!
Again, this is false. I used to practice anywhere from 12 - 16 hours a day,
and over the course of 2 years my playing did nothing. Oh sure, there were
small advancements, but I was looking for real results. Instead of applying
myself so much physically, I started really thinking about the mental science
of playing fast. That's when the "miracle" began to take shape. Over time I realized that as I got better, I could deplete the time that
I needed to practice. A lot of purists combat this notion, but I want to
excel at many things and not just guitar, so I found a way to make it happen.
Life's too short, you know? What is more important than anything is to practice consistently instead
of practicing constantly. Playing all the time and not getting anything
in return is very frustrating. I KNOW how frustrating it is. I still remember that feeling like it was yesterday. Guitar Speed Myth #4 - I Have The Wrong Guitar For Shredding!!
Nope. Granted that some are a little better than others, but for the most
part this can be achieved even on an acoustic. Electrics are recommended,
and good action and a good neck are also advised, but a guitarist is
going to play on the guitar that they want to jam on. Everyone has different hands, different fingers, and different reactions
and tastes, so this is not even remotely important. What is, is the fact
that the system for speed training never changes. The concept and practice
method is the same. So what IS the system for developing proper guitar speed? Well, its a collection of several things actually. Practice, awareness, balance,
and knowing. Sounds pretty zen, right? Let's break it down! Practice is obviously necessary, but it is useless without Awareness, which is when you can determine good practice
from bad, solid habits from bad ones. Balance is very important, because a guitar player needs to
know how much to practice, how many exercises, and how much variation is needed. Knowing is probably the most important step of all. Its useless
to spend hours upon hours trying to develop guitar speed if you aren't
practicing the right types of exercises each step of the way. Improving your guitar speed requires an understanding of some of the basic
secrets - these are the things that most guitar players don't typically
know how to put into words......until now! Introducing.... The Essential Guide To Guitar Virtuosity The Guitar Speed Training Ebook The Essential Guide to Guitar Virtuosity is a jam-packed book

It is not a theory book, or how to
build guitar solos from scales, rather it is a guitar exercise training ebook. 1. The first 3 chapters deal with the mental
reparation that is needed to make progress on the guitar. 2. Chapters 4 - 7 deal with basic groupings of notes and how the
picking hand reacts to certain sets of notes. If the first 3 chapters act as a mental primer, then chapters 4 - 7 certainly
act as a physical primer. 3. Chapters 8 - 9 are more elaborate and contain increasingly tougher exercises and training. 4. Chapters 10 - 12 deal with basic techniques like hammer-ons, pull offs, bends and vibrato. Most advanced guitar
instructional materials fail to cover these smaller techniques, and yet they are very important for continuing on to
the "true grit" material contained in the next chapters. 5. Chapters 13 - 18 deal with advanced techniques, and as many scenarios as possible are given for these techniques.
Some are simple, while others may be monstrously hard. 6. Chapters 20 - 23 return to the more philosophical and mental aspects of guitar playing, and these chapters are
saved for the end, because they will help you to carry your studies beyond this ebook. Finally The Essential Guide To Guitar Virtuosity is topped off with a bonus chapter entitled "Recording and the home studio", which
is a basic outline of what you may need to set up a cheap home recording studio so that you may put your
musical ideas into action. Buy it Improve your picking by 60-70%. I'll show you the exercises, and the method for increasing picking velocity. Develop incredible fretting hand strength.
