I later started looking for software that would help me fine-tune my skills. I went through several programs and metronomes that essentially provided the same thing - Clicking at a constant tempo. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just boring and doesn't encourage you to make any real progress. What I wanted - and needed - was something that would push me to develop my speed... ...something that would encourage me to make real progress so that I was more engaged, less bored, and looking forward to practice. Finally I figured out a way to develop my own software that included all the necessary features to keep me challenged and interested in practicing.
