Enhanced Learning Guitar Videos...

Slow Down Video and Skyrocket your learning curve Now you can 'really' study your videos with this very useful software development. Just Watch This! Look In 'Jaw-Dropping Wonder' At This Video Demonstration...   Dear computer video user, Using digital videos to learn new skills like playing guitar, is the most exciting advance since computers were invented. The big problem is that most of the benefit is lost if you don't have the ability to loop, slow down and repeat small sections of videos and maintain the pitch so that the sound is unchanged. It's no good slowing down a music tuition video for example if the voiceover sounds like Darth Vader on tranquilizers and the instrument sounds like a 'wound down' gramophone. 'Multi-Purpose' video programs simply cannot perform this miracle . . .' Video viewing software like Windows Media Viewer and Real Player are designed to be multi purpose and, to be fair, they do a pretty good job most of the time. But no one ever designed a video viewing program that was specialist enough to do the very specific job of slowing, looping and repeating for the sole purpose of learning a new skill. This is what a recent purchaser said about SloMoDirector. 'The Human Brain As A Progammable Computer' There is a part of the human brain, situated at the back of the head, called the cerebellum. This is known as the 'motor region' and is where our automatic human processes are taken care of. To give you an idea, our 'blink repsonse' is part of this motor mechanism stored in the cerebellum. Blinking is something we never need to think about, good job really or we'd all be walking round with bits of garbage in our eyes. Reflex Actions need no 'thought' Our reflexes are stored there so that when we touch something hot....we don't need someone to tell us to move our hand. It is a reflex action. Our reflexes are obviously 'hard wired' into the brain at birth, following half a million years worth of evolution. What about learning new skills? Well, interestingly, any kind of new physical skill (like playing guitar for example) is stored in the cerebellum along with our 'hard wired' behaviour. If we just keep repeating . . amazing things happen The way that new skills are learned is by repeating the behaviour multiple times. This causes our brain cells (neurons) to form new links with other brain cells. The links become 'permanent' after enough repetitions and we are then able to perform the new skill, without thinking, whenever we wish. Skillful Actions with No 'Thought' That is how we explain the phenomena of being able to ride a bike...even if we haven't ridden one for years. If we take away concepts like 'musicality' and 'interpretation' then learning to play a musical instrument, at least early on, is a set of physical actions. Using SloMoDirector© means you can watch, copy and perfect those actions, at your own speed (some people take longer for the programming to take place, but interestingly also, they usually retain the skill for longer, go figure...) until the behaviour, in this case, playing guitar, becomes programmed into the cerebellum. Imagine there was a teacher who could show you some new skill you were trying to learn, at any speed you wanted, as often as you wanted . . . . over and over and over again and never get bored. What would happen to your learning curve? Do you think that you'd even give a thought to how you'd achieved any of this when you are there playing song-after-song-after-song. I bet nobody would ever guess that you had used modern computer technology to learn how to make music. When I first started exploring the possiblilties of SloMoDirector I just did what any modern 'net-savvie' surfer would do . . . I Googled and what I found really suprised me. There was NOTHING that did the job I wanted. 'In Fact Everyone I asked said it couldn't be done!' After about three months searching all the websites where the worlds' smartest programmers hang out . . . I found someone who said it could be done. I put my money where my mouth is and the result is SloMoDirector. If you are learning by using digital videos, you now have the opportunity to squeeze every last drop of information out of them and bring about a rapid increase in your ability to learn. We are in the 21st century now and some things are just easier if you grab the technology. Read what current users are saying . . . . . . . On Sun Nov 11 19:59:13 PST 2007 SloMo installed and worked flawlessly. Very satisfied with your product. As a beginner with some knowledge on fingerpicking, I was having a problem trying to keep up with exactly what you were doing on The Boxer. Using SloMo, I was able to figure it out and within a couple hours, I had the entire song down exactly like you performed it on the video. Very happy with the software and thanks alot for providing it.   Best Regards, Mike AL United States On Thu May 10 06:46:34 PDT 2007 . . . . but have not been able to find anything that worked. Mike, Viewed your demo; immediately purchased and installed the Slow-Mo product.Tried it out for about a minute and absolutely love it! I am somewhat of a computer junkie and I have been trying different things to get the lessons slowed down a bit, but have not been able to find anything that worked. I know you put a lot of thought, time and effort into this new product and I thank you for making it available. It should prove to be successful and I trust it will exceed your expectations. Best regards, Rick. Lake Mary, FL On Fri May 11 10:10:56 PDT 2007 . . . . . after slowing it down and putting it on repeat 10 times I had it down pat, Hi Mike,    I purchased  your SloMoDirector and I've got to say, how simple, obvious but so clever!. I think that only someone like you, who can think outside of the square could think of something as brilliant as SloMoDirector, congratulations and very well done.  I used the SMD on a simple strumming pattern tutorial ( "Always on My Mind", one of your strumming videos) that I could not get to sound right, but after slowing it down and putting it on repeat 10 times I had it down pat, and was playing along with you at a slower speed,  and we were both in correct pitch  It reminded me of what a teacher once told me, " play it many times at a slower speed until you've got it perfect" this I can now do whilst playing along with the video. I'll say again this program is brilliant!   Thanks again Mike and the very best of luck, Kind regards, Jim Gooch. Australia . . . . . . . suddenly have been given a new lease on learning Mike, Well done mate! This SloMoDirector is just what was needed to aid guitarists, both beginner and advanced. I (we) can't thank you enough. Just imagine, being able to slow down, and loop sections of videos by Hendrix, Clapton, Vai, Satriani; Gary and Vinnie Moore to name a few.   Wow! How about having Segovia show you slowly and loopfully (Have I just invented a new word?) his masterful technique? Now there's something to get those Classical riffs under your fingers a little easier.   I just realized that those teaching videos that get us all frustrated because the teacher just says "Play it like this" and rattles off the riffs so as you can't really follow the fingering; suddenly have been given a new lease on learning.I can see this being a great aid to all types of teaching videos. The programme is just amazing Mike.   I think you may of found that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow my friend.   Thank you so much for making this.   Cheers!!   John. New Jersey. USA (Note from Mike Herberts. These testimonials are unsolicited.) My simple thought was "If I can't find it, let's see if I can make it" Making it myself wasn't really an option for me as I am a musician and marketer. . . not a computer programmer. I therefore went to the places where the worlds best programmers hang out and found one who knew enough about the algorithms used in video and audio and set him on to produce SloMoDirector©. SloMoDirector is a total 'Miracle' As far as I am concerned, and I am pretty computer/technology 'savvy' . . SloMoDirector is a total 'Miracle'. I've spoken to dozens of very smart programmers and they still can't figure out how my programmers managed to do this. There's tons of different programs that will slow (and keep the pitch) and loop audio on its own But there is NOTHING like SloMoDirector anywhere. If you are in any way skeptical then just do a Google search (you probably did already right?) The results of his teams' work is eye popping. The more I thought about it the more I realised that this video learning aid can be used is tons of different areas...not just learning to play guitar. . . how about videoing yourself . . . Piano - Dancing - Skating - Snowboarding - Hockey Martial Arts - Magic Tricks - Saxophone . . . Rip your existing DVD's using FREE software that you can download from the internet. Save them as .WMV and manipulate them with SloMoDirector.   Capture Streaming Videos from Websites using FREE software that you can download from the internet. Save them as .WMV files and open them with SloMoDirector (We include this as one of the bonuses) It sounds almost too good to be true right? Well there are a couple of things you should know. Are there any 'downsides' to SloMoDirector? YES. The technology used to create SloMoDirecto® is pushing the boundaries of what is possible on a PC. We've deliberately restricted the SlowDown rate to a minimum of 40%. Any less than this speed and you start to get a little distortion on the audio. In practice this isn't the problem you might think, since the optimum speed for learning is higher than this and most people find 60% to 80% is a better speed to learn at. Also the User Interface is a bit . . kind of 'Agricultural'. We tried with a flashy modern looking interface screen but it sapped...
