Dear Writer,
  
I'm sure that, like thousands and thousands of other writers, you don’t just write because you enjoy writing.  You write because you want to be successful.  Isn't that right?  You want to earn a living with your words.  Heck, maybe for now, you’d just be happy to be published-even if you don’t get paid for it.
 
I know that’s how I felt when I was first starting out as a writer.  I just wanted to make a sale.  Any sale.  I wanted to see my name in print.   
Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait too long to see my name in print.  I sold my first short story to Teen Magazine.  I still have a photocopy of the check I received for that story framed and hanging on the wall in my office.  Can’t you just picture a framed check like that hanging on your wall?
 
Since that first sale, I have sold more short stories.  I’ve sold poetry, greeting card copy, essays, over 300 newspaper columns, and four books.  I’ve written successful articles, web copy, and sales letters.  I have realized my dream of becoming a successful career author.

Who am I and why was I able to develop this writing success roadmap?

I am a former newspaper columnist.  I wrote, “The Up Beat” for The Daily World for over six years.  I am the author and publisher of a two e-zines, “Living On The Up Beat,” and “The Dog Parent & Canine Kid News.”  I have written dozens of articles, essays, sales letters, and pieces of website copy.
